Abov Theme is personal blog designed theme, with a very clean and elegant style. Both versions are great white WordPress themes for everyone!
It has a Featured SlideShow, “About Me” text and photo, Theme Admin Menu to Set up the Theme, widget-ready sidebar.
Slide Effect Set Up:
First you have to go to Apperance -> Abov Theme Optitions and choose wich Category will be displayed in SlideShow and number of posts.
Then in Add New Post screen in Custom Fields:
In New Version:
1. Featured Images in Slideshow:
In the custom field area, enter the key as screen and the value as the url of the image (400 px x 222 px)*.
2. Featured Text in Slideshow:
In the ecxerpt field, enter your text.
* All other thumbnails will be automaticlly resized!
In Old Version:
1. Featured Images in Slideshow:
In the custom field area, enter the key as slide and the value as the url of the image (450 px x 250 px).
2. Featured Text in Slideshow:
In the ecxerpt field, enter your text.

Thanks for this very cool theme. I need some help. I am following every step described here (1. Write post, 2. Set name to screen. 3. set value to URL) but I cannot get any picture featured on my blog. I have tried both key words for both old and new version. What am I doing wrong?

Unfortunately I am using lots of square Pics. So is there any chance to change the size of the slideshow-picture size and in the popular widget? I can’t find it in the stylesheet

It is hard to explain per comments.
But you need to change image resolutions in featlist.php for popular thumbs and feat.php for slideshow.
If you need change values (padding etc.) for these images in style.css and slide.css

Hi–
I really like this theme, I downloaded it and activated it to see what it looked like and now when I go to the site I can not find a “meta” “admin” or “log in” prompt to allow me to get into the administration of the site so I can actually build it. (Yikes) I’m feeling like an idiot but have been all over the place and can’t find it anywhere (also using search function has turned up nothing).

Hey Abov – Seriously dope theme. Maybe the best I’ve ever used! Just a quick question.. wondering why “Read More..” only appears in one of my features in the carousel and not the others. I’m pretty savvy with the theme so far (may I suggest a featured video in the about area in the future? I love it!) Anyway, I don’t know enough about the code to figure it out. I’m thinking some little function in the feat.php, but can you help? Many thanks!!

I could not get the carasel to work. I do see an image there but the arrows that make them move are not there. I do have two posts with images and custom fields are done. Cant figure this one out. http://www.neslianter.com

Hi. The there is great, but when viewing on IE the About Us category (on the demo, to the R of the horz slide show) is misplaced downward and overlaps with the popular category. This is viewable on the demo in IE as well as on my site. I was working on a mac and didn’t realize this issue right away. There is also no problem with Firefox on a PC, just with IE.
Do you have a fix, or is there a patch to correct this for IE?

Thanks so much for the great theme! I am using the new Abov theme, and have 2 questions for you.
1) I wanted to find out if there is a way to place an image in the header instead of the bloginfo text. I’d like to use my logo if possible.
2) In the About Us box, instead of displaying both text and an image, is there a way that I can input a rotating gif or just an image?
I am comfortable with making changes in the theme editor, but I’m not sure where to do it in your code and what code you recommend using.
